Dr. Brown moved from his hometown, New Orleans, to Chattanooga in 1990. He was honored to work alongside Dr. Paul Thompson M.D. – an orthopedic legend. Dr. Brown continues to serve the community. He established Chattanooga Sports Medicine & Orthopedics in 1994.
Dr. Brown attended Tulane University, LSU Medical School and completed his Orthopedic Residency through Tulane. He then completed a Total Joint/Sports Medicine Fellowship with Dr. Ray J Haddad M.D., Chairman of the Orthopedic Department. Dr. Haddad’s expertise served the New Orleans Jazz professional basketball team, the New Orleans Saints, Tulane University Athletics and various high schools in the area.
During his residency at Tulane, Dr. Brown also trained at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus as well as the Louisiana Veterans Administration Hospital. In addition, he trained at the Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.
Dr. Brown was the team orthopedic surgeon caring for the athletes at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for 15 years. He has continued to provide care for local high schools and residents for over 20 years.
Dr. Brown is especially sought after by those with aging joints and arthritic pain. Dr. Brown and his wife are the parents of 4 boys and continue to serve the Chattanooga community.
