Diagnostic Imaging

Medical professionals use diagnostic imaging Chattanooga diagnostic imaging sports medicine to understand injuries and illnesses in the human body while being completely unobtrusive. At CCJRO we use a few different types of diagnostic imaging with highly sophisticated medical technology. The most common diagnostic imaging tools include X-rays and MRIs. While some patients may have to stand in awkward positions depending on the area of interest, there is virtually no discomfort during the diagnostic imaging process.

What is an X-ray?

X-ray technology allows medical care professionals to make an image of the skeleton to better diagnose illness and injuries. In diagnostic imaging, we use X-rays to get an imprint of the internal skeleton structure on film. We use a highly detailed imaging process to gather as much information about an area of interest as possible.

What is an MRI?

MRI stands for magnetic resonance imaging. MRIs are used to view the tissue composition of the body, such as organs and muscles. Whereas X-rays are more frequently used to look at bone structure, MRIs help us determine if there is any damage to tissues, such as muscles, ligaments, and tendons. This video explains how the magnetic resonance process is able to take such a detailed image of the body.
